Tuttle Cult

One mystery that fans of the show are left with once season one is over is the cult. The show writers did not wish to define the cult with many details to show how deeply it is hidden as well as ingrained in the land and leaving viewers with mystery unsolved. As a result, there is no official name for the main cult in the show! It is referred to by many names from fans, such as the Tuttle Cult (as most if not all the members are from the Tuttle family), The Carcosa Cult, or the Yellow King Cult (these two names are brought up during the season but are not fully explained). For the sake of clarity, this website will refer to the cult as the Tuttle Cult. It has no set religion but appears to want power over others by abuse. (26, 27, 28) . With this being said, the key feature of cults is that the leader tries to reprogram and manipulate the member’s beliefs into what the leader wants (29).
