Cults

This is an important religious theme in True Detective as the murders and missing persons in the show are eventually shown to be linked to a clandestine cult of powerful individuals in Louisiana. While this cult has no name, it is often referred to as the Tuttle Cult, The Carcosa Cult, or The Yellow King Cult.
